Declining Vision

Our natural vision can decline as we age. Some, like me, have issues from
childhood. Most will have some issues at
middle age, a short-arm syndrome.
Despite the time of onset, there is often little we can do to stop it,
although much of it can be corrected.
Some issues will continue to worsen and can only be managed as best
possible and may result in a drastic or complete loss of vision.
While I can do nothing to reverse the issues with my vision,
I have a second sight that is manageable, even reversible – my I-sight. The term is not original, nor is the
medicine. In fact, both the disease and
its cure are ancient. The disease is as
old as man; its healer, timeless and eternal.
When I focus on my fears, on myself, the liar tries to
convince me this is my reality. But when I call fear’s bluff and redirect my
thoughts to God’s Word and his faithfulness, everything changes. The lens of Truth is free. And because the
more I read, study and meditate on it, the more it’s hidden in my heart, total
loss of my natural vision can do nothing to diminish its power and
presence. If anything, it will amplify
it.
Fear is a liar. It masquerades as many other emotions, and
out of it we may be tempted to react and respond without realizing the root
source.
Where I pitch my tent matters. I may pull it up and move it many times a day,
but as long as I’m seeing the need to move, I’m gaining vision and strength.
Can't we all use a healthy does of vision and strength?

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night ......
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.Psalm 91:5;1-2
