BE A HIGHLIGHTER

But let us who live in the light be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation. (1 Thes 5:8 NLT)

There's an abundance of darkness in our world this morning. Don't believe what you see and hear. Don't let it dim your light. The world needs the light that has been placed within us, and our salvation and the hope it has brought is our helmet. Our breastplate is faith and love.

These are not passive words, but a call to enter the battle in the protection that has been handed to us at our acceptance of Christ as our salvation, our righteousness, our pardon. Our weak, sin-wearied spirits have been exchanged for energized bodies fit for the war in the places where the battle is truly waged -- in the high places. Let's not roll over or lay down our armor and hide in caves of despair.

It may seem today as if you can do nothing to add hope to the crisis in our nation, but if each believer takes his or her light into this day, the darkness will dim; hope will be extended.

Look expectantly today for His hand and share with another what you see. Ask them to look and pass it on -- each candle of hope lighting another until day by day it overcomes the darkness.
