5 min Friday: While

While the demon-possessed man Jesus healed at Gadarenes in Mark 4 wanted to go with Jesus, he was told to go back to his friends and family and tell them what Jesus had done for him and how he had mercy on him.

Ahhhhh….what a picture of the walking home. In our natural lives, we move daily toward our time to be forever with Jesus, but while we are here, we have a purpose, a high calling.

How easy is it to tell our friends and family about our lives with Jesus? The enemy of our soul tries to make it hard, but we can speak of Him in almost every conversation. Our words can be seasoned with Truth, yet not recite verses or preach. Someone needs to see Jesus today. Will we let them see Him in us while we still have time?

In a world of make-believe,
scientists all made up as gods,
it's all to easy to receive
and trust the honeyed words of frauds
who won't see past screen-blinded eyes
to look Creation in the face,
who daily try to digitize
all the essence of God's grace,
and it is these to whom we owe
the testimony of redemption,
to point the way, and then to go
with them from their self-detention
until the very proudest sees,
and drops, sobbing, to his knees.

We can speak of Him in every conversation, yet we find it too hard/too embarrassing to do it. But why? You summed it up - the enemy gets in the way.

May we speak and share of Him while we yet have time. Powerful to think on!
